Cinematically Insanelooks at the changes at TCM and what that might mean down the road.I'm so wary of this because even if they rebrand to be less about "old"movies then agreed upon "greats"how will we see the really old movies that are harder and harder to find with the death of DVD?I know I'm not alone among cinephiles in the desire to see less-than-great films regularly so as to get context for a career (director or actor) or timeframe at the movies

And what about Applegate's Funny or Die Lifetime movie of Meryl??

I'm still DYING for a tv show to use Patti Lupone properly.AHS: Coven was a travesty, best was still on Will & Grace.

I would sayPenny Dreadfulused LuPone more than adequately in her guest-starring episode. She killed.

Paul - Agreed on that, wonder if she qualifies for a guest emmy next year.

I liked Patti on Girls too,a fictionalized (?) version of herself.I don't think she was on Will and Grace, was she?Are you thinking of Frasier?

I always had a soft spot for A League of Their Own since it's based (loosely) on my hometown.

Paul -- agreed.she totally earned that series regular...though its weird that they'll be giving her a new role.

Nat: That confuses me too. She's a WITCH.Stage a resurrection scene and boom, you're done!

I'm surprisingly sad about Downton's end, even though I skipped this past season. The Brits know when to call it quits at least.

Loved the Emma Thompson interview at Vulture - that woman never disappoints.
Also the appreciation shown to "Room with a View"is marvelous.Such an outstanding cast, such a rewarding re-watch.Perhaps there should be a podcast devoted to Merchant / Ivory productions?(hint)
