Supporting Actress Drama-Emmy breakdown

"I'd love for Gwendoline to win but I think it will be Fiona Shaw because she's an industry vet."-Brittani

"I'm rarely a fan of giving a statue for someone's previous work, but Lena Headey deserves an Emmy for carrying so much of that show on her back - and flawlessly."-Sean Diego

A "Four Weddings & A Funeral" Revamp!

Chrishere. As Mindy Kaling wraps up the final season ofThe Mindy Project, she is probably about to be on our minds more than ever before. In the next year, she will be in two of our most anticipated movies: Ava DuVernay'sA Wrinkle in Timeand gay oasisOcean's Eight. But she is currently lining up another project to fawn over: a television series revisit ofFour Weddings and a Funeral.

Kaling will executive produce with the film's Oscar-nominated screenwriter Richard Curtis for Hulu, and the idea is to craft each season around a different group of friends. While it may seem like yet another revisit for the offing,Kaling has exactly the point of view to make something very special out of this particular reboot. And a rotating cast allows for all different kinds of possibilities for romantic pairings - not to mention Andie MacDowell as different wedding guests / white wine connoisseurs.

Is it maybe time for a reassessment of the original?I admittedly haven't seen it in some time, but it's worthwhile to remember that it ushered in the era of 90s romantic comedies and also was a rare contemporary Best Picture nominee for the genre. And let's not forget the hats!Have you any fondFour Weddingsmemories?

So someone in the group of friends is going to die every year? How lovely.

The concept of looking at different groups each year is okay but I love the original and its perfect casting so I can't see it as an improvement.

i'm into it.as i see it,if you're gonna remake something better have a reason it should be redone,or a new lens through which to see the premise.i'll need to see rewatch the old version soon,then...

A funny and human comedy.Acid, with feelings, don't try to make you laugh at any cost.If you don't want to laugh, don't laugh. And Hugh Grant could'n have a better vehicle to become a movie star,a kind of "king or prince of romantic comedy",maybe.I know I'm not the only one that wanted Charles(Grant) to stay with Fiona(Kristin Scott Thomas) and not with Carrie(Andie McDowell),though I like Andie and her character. For those who like Four Weddings and A Funeral and Andie MacDowell,I recommend Green Card(1990),romantic comedy directed by Peter Weir(!),with Andie and Gerard Depardieu. The nomination of Four Weddings for the Oscars wasn't such a surprise because it was,亚博主页beside a surprising massive hit from a insignificant budget, one favorite of the critics and awards(Golden Globe,Bafta,César,Directors Guide of America...).It was expected the nomination of Hugh for best actor(won the Comedy/Musical Golden Globe). These were other times for the Academy Awards and comedy movies.

KST is so funny and haughty and fed up and bitchy,a worthy Bafta BSA winner,Grant is so effortless in this and a gr8 GG winner.

First order of business: cast Kumail Nanjiani.

Love Kaling. She belongs to my holy trinity of women at comedy with Julia Louise Dreyfuss and Tina Fey.

Dave S - YES!He's a Four Weddings super fan,so seeing it come full circle for him would be lovely

Four Weddings and a Funeral, while totally '90s,has aged VERY well.Grant and Scott Thomas are MVPs,and I sometimes wonder how Sarah Jessica Parker, who was originally cast, would've fared among the ensemble (vs.MacDowell).Good luck,Kaling & Co.

My cousin was walking out as I was walking into the theater, and I remember her saying "This might be the most wonderful movie I have ever seen!"

I think this could be a really entertaining idea, with lots of twists and turns."English Romantic Comedy Story"to contrast with "American Horror Story".

Oh Mindy - you are wonderful.BUT NO NO NO - to this stupid Four Weddings thing.Leave the classics alone. The film was a gem.And how Hugh Grant and Kristen Scott Thomas didn't get nominations still astound me.The scene where Kristen tells Hugh she is the one who has loved him for so long just breaks me.A film that makes me laugh and cry - EVERY TIME i see it is a true gem.
