Do Emmy submissions episodes matter?

"They did before they changed the voting procedure. They don't now.Now popular shows and stars win."-JW

"i wish they did,so that moira rose's brilliance in creating a human/crow hybrid in 'the crows have eyes 3: the crowening' would be recognised as the masterclass it is i'm ride or die with catherine o'hara in the ridiculously stacked comedy actress category"-Par

"Chewing Gum"Season 2 is Here!

Chrishere. One of the delights of this television season has beenChewing Gum,Netflix's wacky sex-crazed British import.Written by and starring Michaela Coel, the series follows Tracey as she haphazardly tries to lose her virginity in a conservative household.Think of it like a dopier alternative to Amazon'sFleabag, but just as much of a breakthrough for its writer-star.The silly and sweet comedy came to stateside Netflix only in October, and thankfully the wait for the second season has been short: it arrives today!

But why is Netflix launching so quietly? If you want a trailer for the season, you'll find some from its British launch but none from the streaming service.Lately,Netflix has become a dumping ground for all too much great product they don't properly promote - like this year's Sundance Grand Jury Prize winnerI Don't Feel At Home in This World Anymore. This show may have not made waves like other new shows, butChewing Gumhas the makings of a cult phenom - all led by the distinctive voice and brilliant physical comedy of Coel.

And better yet: each season is a lean six episodes! If nothing else, you have a raunchy palette cleanser for yourBig Little Liesobsession!Have you caught up toChewing Gum?

She won last year's BAFTA for Comedy Actress (well-deserved) and will this year likely be succeeded by Phoebe Waller-Bridge for Fleabag...

I'm so glad that niche (even in the UK) shows are now available to watch globally thanks to Netflix...it makes me feel very patriotic!

Yes,just caught up last week.So excited for the new season! It took me 1 or 2 episodes to get on this show's groove but once I did I found it addictive.

Michaela Cole is a star,no ways about it.But the show is overcrowded, lacks tenderness and honesty and is brought down by seemingly obligatory creative choices behind E4 comedy productions - broad strokes, tacky production design, tacky characters and terrible editing.Cole is the sole reason to see this.
