"If you'll pardon the bluntness,I am still convinced that Richard Kelly was masturbating the entire time he was filming this movie."-PoliVamp

"Love this write-up,and love Southland Tales in all its loopy glory."-Ben1283

"I saw this in the theater with a friend who (like me) has a very high tolerance for obscure, messy film.We both left the screening saying,'What the hell WAS that?' "- RV

April Foolish Predictions #1: Animated Feature

[drumroll]It's Time! Our annual April Foolish Oscar Predictions have begun.

Please bear in mind that, though the predictions may actually seem foolish and will surely be out of date within a few weeks (if not sooner as more concrete news about the film year emerges),we are actually pretty good at this. Before each categorywe'll tell you what we generally score this far in advance. And if you think it seems low, that just proves to us that you haven't actually written down your predictions during the first week of april, not changed them with every scrap of news you heard, and then checked that hard copy nearly a year later to see how well it held up!

First up is Best Animated Feature where our traditional prediction score this early is 3/5.But 2019 might well hold more suprises than usual...

Evan Rachel Wood and Sterling K.Brown Sign Up for Frozen 2

Chrishere. Now thatFrozen's Broadway adaptation was largely met with "meh",fans are all eyes on next year's upcoming sequel. While we have the headling cast of Kristen Bell and Idina Menzel returning along with original directors Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck,we have had nary a detail about what to expect before the film arrives on November 27,2019.But now we have two new exciting additions to the cast, two recent Emmy nomineesThis Is Us' Sterling K.Brown andWestworld's Evan Rachel Wood.

Naturally,we have no details whatsoever on who they will be playing but that need not stop us from speculating.Brown has become something of a steady franchise supporting player, having appeared earlier this year inBlack Pantherand will show up in this year's rehash ofThe Predator. With Santino Fontana's surprise villain Hans out of the picture, could he be a new romantic rival for Anna?Wood's presence however presents an intriguing notion or two - starting with the excitement that she might sing on screen again. The bigger question: could she be the answer to the Give Elsa A Girlfriend petition?
