Marriage StoryReview

"They're saying this is for Adam Driver what Kramer vs Kramer was for Dustin Hoffman.More about him than about her.  Scarlett,to me,is the open question.By now it's Driver vs Phoenix for best actor."- Melchiades -Andrew

"Mini-shutout to Alda,whom I loved and thought did absolute wonders in his what,3 or 4 scenes.Great review!"-Alex

Thoughts I Had...The "Geostorm" Trailer

Chrishere. It's been a long time since we got a good old fashioned disaster flick, right?LuckilyGeostormis here to fill the silly void this fall.

The film stars Gerard Butler (as if you had to ask) in a world where satellites help ward off the perils of global warming. When the system gets hacked (or something, science is hard),Butler and crew is sent into space to investigate while Jim Sturgess is our hero on the ground. From the looks of the first trailer, there is a whole lot going on,from explosions to tornado armies to an Andy Garcia president.Naturally,I have some thoughts:

Thoughts I Had: First images from "Murder on the Orient Express"

To Entertainment Weekly the honor of introducing us,or re-introducing us rather,to the characters ofMurder on the Orient Express. The Agatha Christie book was first published in 1934,got a very popular Oscar loved film adaptation forty years later and another forty-plus after that it'll be back in movie theaters again with a brand new cast.

After the jump a mega post about this cover and the adjacent character photos that came with it...

Feud: Bette and Joan "And the Winner Is"(Part 1)

Previously on Feud: Bette and Joan
1"Pilot"2"The Other Woman"3 "Mommie Dearest"4 "More or Less"

-Do you have any comment on your co-star Joan Crawford being snubbed?

-Define "snub"!

by Nathaniel R

If you had told me at any point beforeFeud: Bette and Joanwas announced to the world that there would one day be a TV show that spent a full hour recreating the drama of a single Oscar night,I wouldneverhave believed you.If that imaginative hurtle was cleared I would then preemptively call it the single greatest TV hour in the history of television. But here we are withFeudand the reality is,if not the fantasy, still the best hour ofFeudas a series. The concept of the series has so far outpaced the reality of it that it's lapped by several times already.Which is to say that if you've been reading along you know that I don't love the show.So I'll turn over the finale 3 episodes to team members who are maybe enjoying it a bit more (with one lastFeud-related post from me after the season has wrapped).Still,I can'tnotreview this Oscar-themed episode."And the Winner Is..."was entirely riveting even though all Oscar buffs had spoiler alerts in their DNA!

Thoughts I Had...While Rewatching "Grease 2"

Grease 2gave me such writer's block in thePfandom seriesbecause what to even focus on with such an event?I finally powered through but the focus naturally had to be on LaPfeiff's career. So,herewith a random collections of thoughts and observations from this viewing which I think was my 6th or 7th?The movie is terrible but I'm addicted to early Pfeiffer's lusty bravado in it,hence the multiple revisits.

(This is gif heavy so be warned...)

Dody Goodman & Eve Arden reprising their Grease roles as "Blanche & Miss McGee"

But these are the faces you'll find me making every time I find myself watching it.WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS AGAIN?!?!?

Thoughts I Had...This EW "Thor: Ragnarok" Cover

Though it's 240 days until Thor: Ragnarok is in theaters, the heavy promo starts now.EW's new cover features Chris Hemsworth, sans long light blonde Thor wig and thus looking far less Scandinavian (sigh) and his two female co-stars.Thoughts that came to me as they came to me without stopping to edit are after the jump...

Thoughts I Had Looking at Binoche,Fiennes and Scott Thomas

by Murtada

This weekend the Rome Film Festival celebrated the 20th Anniversary ofThe English Patientwith a special screening, attended by its three stars Kristin Scott Thomas,Juliette Binoche and Ralph Fiennes.

  • The English Patientwas 20 years ago????
  • Juliette laughing and KST mistily looking away is reminiscent of their characters, warm melancholy Hannah and icy melancholy Katharine.
  • I miss KST's icy grandeur… now that she is a Dame will she get a new wind to her career?
  • Am I K in your book?
  • I still lived in Sudan in 1997 where cinemas were scarce.I remember wanting to see the movie for months and finally managed to see it on a trip to London a month after it won 9 Oscars.亚博主页I went straight from the airport, dropped my bags and rushed to an afternoon screening in Leicester Square. That's how bad I wanted to see it,I couldn't wait another minute.

What are your memories of the first time you sawThe English Patient?
